We are an independent firm of Estate Agents, Chartered Surveyors, Auctioneers and Land Agents serving County Durham, North Yorkshire Northumberland and Cumbria. The company started over 100 years ago in Barnard Castle, County Durham. On April 1st 2012 Addisons Chartered Surveyors merged with Broadley and Coulson.

Addisons Chartered Surveyors is now run by Simon Nixon MRICS, FAAV, FNAEA; a Chartered Surveyor possessing a wide range of knowledge and experience, and is involved in all of the core areas of the firm's expertise and heads the Barnard Castle office. David Coulson FRICS, FAAV; now heads the Crook office and like Simon also possesses a great understanding of all property issues within the area. Richard Duffus MRICS, MRAC; also a Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years professional experience heads the Richmond office.

Addisons has a large and diverse spread of expertise that covers all matters of estate agency, environmental scheme applications, bank and professional valuations, planning applications, tax advice, alternative energy schemes, agricultural work and farm, commercial and property valuations.

As Chartered Surveyors, we abide by the standards set and guidelines of professional conduct issued by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

We are also members of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers, the National Association of Estate Agents, as well as being a member firm of the Property Ombudsman Scheme.
