Steeped in history, Hebden Bridge is a charming and picturesque little market town. Nesting within the Pennine foothills the town attracts visitors of all ages and maintains a strong community spirit. Hebden Bridge somehow manages to hang on to traditional olde-world charm whilst growing in reputation as a bohemian and creative miniopolis!

Local beauty spots such as the National Trust’s Hardcastle Crags provide a haven for those seeking relaxation within our stunning Pennine countryside. Hebden Bridge was declared, in 2005 by British Airways in-flight magazine, as being “the 4th funkiest town in the world”. This is reflected in some of our annual events which include an Arts Festival which attracts national and International Artists and performers to the town each summer.

The nearby town Of Todmorden is separated by approximately 4 miles of the Rochdale Canal and lies beneath the famous and imposing monument of Stoodley Pike. Todmorden has a rich industrial history which has resulted in a legacy of superb architecture with landmark buildings including the Town Hall and the Unitarian Church, designated as Grade I Listed by English Heritage. Centre Vale Park is a beautiful park, located just outside the town centre.

Incredible Edible Todmorden is an exciting urban gardening project and has attracted a great deal of press and publicity. The towns interest in self sufficiency brought about a visit by HRH Prince Charles in 2010. There are many local food producers; butchers, bakers, a local brewery and a local organic cheese maker who also attracted Royal attention with HRH Princes Ann’s visit in 2013.

Both our market towns have a strong sense of identity and offer a myriad of independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants of which many now specialise in selling locally produced goods. With the main Trans-Pennine rail link passing through, we have excellent commuter links to the nearby cities of Manchester, Leeds & Bradford. There are main station in both Todmorden and Hebden Bridge and smaller stations at Mytholmroyd and Walsden.
